How to activate a license for FIXEye

Applicable only for FIXEye versions up to 4.0 and FIXEye Agent versions up to 2.0.

Activating FIXEye by using an activation code

  1. In the FIXEye Activation wizard, click I have an activation code.
  2. Click Paste to insert an activation code in the box. 
  3. Click Next to activate FIXEye.

Activating FIXEye over the Internet

  1. In the FIXEye Activation wizard, do one of the following steps:
    - If you have a license file, click I have a license file.  In the License file box, click Browse to locate your license file.
    - If you don’t have a license file, click I don’t have a license file.
  2. Click Over the Internet.
  3. Click Next to activate FIXEye.
Note: when you activate FIXEye without a license file, you can use FIXEye for a short period of time, for example, 30 days. When this period expires, FIXEye will stop working.

Activating FIXEye without an access to the Internet

If you do not have an Internet connection or you are unable to activate over the internet (due to a company firewall, for example), you can request an activation code using email.

  1. In the FIXEye Activation wizard,  do one of the following steps:
    - If you have a license file, click I have a license file.  In the License file box, click Browse to locate your license file.
    - If you don’t have a license file, click I don’t have a license file.

    Note: when you activate FIXEye without a license file, you can use FIXEye for a short period of time, for example, 30 days. When this period expires, FIXEye will stop working.
  2. Click Via E-Mail.
  3. Click Next to move to the next page.
  4. Do one of the following steps:
    - To send an activation request using your default email client, click Open e-mail. The wizard opens a new mail message in your default client. The message contains the request text that the activation system needs. Send the message.
    - To send an activation request using an online mail service like Gmail, you can copy the Activation Request Block to your clipboard by clicking Copy. Paste the request block to email body and send it to the address that is provided in the activation wizard.
    - To send an activation request from another computer that connects to the Internet, you can save the Activation Request Block in a text file by clicking Save as. On another computer, put the content of the text file to email body and send it to the address that is provided in the activation wizard.

Once you have received the response email message with the activation code, use the following steps:

  1. Copy the activation code that is in the email message to your clipboard.

    Important: make sure you only copy the code itself and nothing else from the email. Also, please omit the "BEGIN/END ACTIVATION RESPONSE" string markers.
  2. In the FIX Eye Activation wizard, click Paste to insert the activation code in the box. 
  3. Click Next to activate FIXEye.
